Obiang, Kouyate, Song, Cabaye.......bye bye Mark Noble & Kevin Nolan
Throw in Amalfitano and Downing, what a midfield we would have.
Lets hope the rumours of Cabaye and Song are true and we see them both in a Hammers shirt next year.

Nolan, no chance of playing Noble at best a place in the squad.

Exciting times ahead.

Alex 4.57, I hope that we end up with a squad such that there is much room for debate over what is our best eleven.

A change from having a best eleven and no much left over.

European involvement means West Ham United can expand the squad thanks to the additional TV revenues, and attract better quality players, and offer all the squad a chance of a game.

I just hope we get through to the competition proper.

"I do hope we get away from this mentality of obsessing over what the first 11 is or should be. This season especially it should be about the squad, and rotating wisely"

Well said, V.

I do hope we get away from this mentality of obsessing over what the first 11 is or should be. This season especially it should be about the squad, and rotating wisely. Noble will get plenty of games I'm sure, as will Nolan if he stays.

Mixed post there - I was clearly going to point out that Infidel was a moron on another thread - didn't do myself and favours there.

If I had become Chancellor in 2010 I would have taken an axe to public spending and run a surplus so as to pay down the national debt.

I have a feeling Noble will be captain.

Bilic made clear the importance of a domestic core to a successful club, and there's not too many other options in the leadership stakes.

Re: Obiang, Kouyate, Song, Cabaye.......bye bye Mark Noble & Kevin Nolan
To be fair the opening post stated Noble not leaving but a place in the squad, which I think is 100% bang on. Especially with the additions we have made and are potentially going to be making with Song / Cabaye (I hope).

Noble will be a squad player if they come in and a good squad player to have at that. Will contribute massively in Europa games and coming on as a sub in the league.

Re: Obiang, Kouyate, Song, Cabaye.......bye bye Mark Noble & Kevin Nolan
Noble has got alot to offer the squad next season imo. We will be playing alot of games and he will be crucial. People that say he is shot are short-sighted.

Alot of players form was shit second half of least season so why gets picked out I don't know. I am not one of those that advocates his squad place 'cos he is a local boy' but because I genuinley believe he is good enough.

He's not in the top PL players bracket. he has his limitations as a player. But he is definately good enough. We will need alot of strength in depth next season so, as I said, he will be crucial.

Same reason I don't really want to see Downing go but we may have to bite their hand off if it's silly money.

I am sure Bilic will get the best out of Noble.

Nolan can leave...

Noble plays much better with quality around him - they raise his game considerably

jools - he can sit around doing nothing at WH for another year and pick up 50k for doing jack shit.... that's why!

Re: Obiang, Kouyate, Song, Cabaye.......bye bye Mark Noble & Kevin Nolan
I reckon Nolan still see's himself as a prem player and will hold out for one of the promoted teams taking a punt on him.

Either way it would be good business for us, he has been excellent for us and could possibly not be where we are today without his goals (Top goalscorer for at least 2 of our seasons).

Can't imagine why Nolan would expect 50 bags a week when he can't cut it anymore at the top level.

Re: Obiang, Kouyate, Song, Cabaye.......bye bye Mark Noble & Kevin Nolan
How much are Bolton likely to pay him.... 25k?

If so pay up his contract at 25k pw.... 1.3m.... Nolan gets the equivalent of 50k pw and we have him off our books.... eveyone's happy!

Let's hope he sticks to his word because he stated last season if he could not compete anymore at our level he would walk away regardless of the money.

Question is how much of the wages would you pay if they won't pay it all.

Re: Obiang, Kouyate, Song, Cabaye.......bye bye Mark Noble & Kevin Nolan
Wouldn't have a problem with that. We could do with the wages freed up and it would be nice for him to finish off his career up there.

Thanks for the first three seasons and best of luck.
